Users register and create a Digg profile that can contains a user bio, links to the user’s websites and blogs and up to 25 photos. Users can become fans or friends of other users. Users’ “Dugg” stuff is displayed a variety of ways on their profile page.

Digg Users: Digg was launched on December 5, 2004. Digg reached 1 million users in March 2007 but has not released an updated registered user count since that time. In January 2008, JCG.org estimated there were around 2.7 million registered Digg users.

Dallas Digg Users: Using the “Search for Friends” utility and searching by location:

Digg Tools: Digg has a variety of widgets and tools available for users. One of the most useful is the Blog Settings integration. For users with a blog, blog login information can be added to the user profile and then when a story of interest is found that could be used in the blog, the user simple clicks the “Share” button under the story and selects the “Blog It” tab. The headline and a post text excerpt are pre-filled, but can be edited in the window. Simply click the “Blog it” button when finished and the post is added to your blog.

Business use: If you have a blog on topics from your industry and need some content, do a Digg search, find an article of interest, re-write the excerpt with your own comments, press the button and your blog is updated with current, relevant information.

If you are on Digg, be sure and add Dallas Marketing Services as a friend.
